ÆonAire DC AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION

The revolutionary ÆonAire air conditionining and refrigeration equipment incorporates advanced brushless, slotless DC motor technology to realize unprecedented gains in efficiency (up to 75% less power consumption for equivalent cooling), equipment life (3-500% longer), quietness of operation, and size reduction (as much as 50%). The DC compressor and fan motors are greater than 95% efficient under load compared to 50-65% for the equivalent AC motors, and a fraction of the size and weight. ÆonAire equipment utilizes variable speed control to maximize efficiency and reduce operating noise. Unlike AC air conditioners which are turned on (loudly, with a huge power surge) and off by the thermostat as necessary, DC ÆonAire units are always on - idling at low power when the space is at the desired temperature and smoothly accelerating and decelerating as necessary to maintain it.

BRILLIANCE METAL HALIDE ELECTRONIC POWER SUPPLIES (EPS)

Brilliance electronic power supplies (EPS) convert the DC output from an InContinuum Power Module to the correct voltage to ignite and operate Venture Lighting’s DC metal halide lamps. More efficient than standard AC metal halide lamps (up to 35%), these DC versions are also more stable, offer 100%-1% dimming capability, and require less time for initial ignition and to full illumination. All these positive features are further enhanced when lamps are used in combination with the intelligent Brilliance EPS. Present availability (lamps and EPS) is for 48, 68, and 148 watts (the equivalent of the 175-watt AC lamp).

BRILLIANCE FLUORESCENT BALLASTS

Brilliance intelligent electronic ballasts contain logic circuitry to receive and interpret ModeLogic signals from the InContinuum Switch Logic Modules. Control is virtually unlimited, since the SLM can be interfaced with building energy management computers as well as conventional switches, and ultimately with dimming controls. They are truly brilliant in many ways. Brilliance ballasts for fluorescents are highly efficient inverters that oscillate DC input to high-frequency (30Khz) to operate standard, compact, and biax lamps at maximum efficiency

- up to 30% more efficient than standard AC electronic ballasts. Present models operate at 24VDC, with other voltages becoming available in the near future. These high-power-factor ballasts meet or exceed all utility rebate program requirements for energy efficiency.

Lamps and EPS are under development for a 350-watt version which will replace the standard AC 400-watt lamp, offering 35% savings in actual consumption while providing the same lumen output. This model is the most widely used in industrial applications and in indoor sports facilities.
